NexGen Mobility
NexGen EV was preparing to launch a revolutionary line of electric micro-vehicles, but their digital infrastructure was catastrophically unprepared.
They were using a basic Shopify template that couldn't handle custom vehicle configurations, resulting in a clunky, confusing checkout process. When they approached us, their primary concern was that their $10,000+ premium hardware was being sold through a website that felt like a cheap dropshipping store.
We recognized that selling high-ticket hardware online requires absolute confidence from the buyer.
We scrapped their basic template and designed a massive, immersive e-commerce experience that mirrored the futuristic nature of their vehicles.
Our core focus was building a seamless bridge between the digital representation of the vehicle and the physical product they would eventually receive.
We completely decoupled their front-end, building a blazing-fast headless commerce experience using Next.js connected to Shopify Plus via the Storefront API.
To handle the complex configuration logic without bogging down the browser, we implemented Zustand for lightning-fast state management.
This allowed us to calculate dynamic pricing, battery range estimates, and shipping logistics in real-time, with absolutely zero latency as the user customized their build.
The crown jewel of the UI upgrade was a custom 3D configurator. Built with React Three Fiber, we allowed users to physically rotate, paint, and customize their vehicles directly in the browser. We utilized aggressive GSAP scroll animations to guide the user down the page, transitioning them smoothly from the marketing copy right into the driver's seat of the configurator. The UI was stripped of all noise, using stark contrasts and the brand's signature teal (#00D1B2) to highlight calls to action.
The headless architecture and 3D configurator completely changed the trajectory of the launch. NexGen saw a staggering 2.4x multiplier on their conversion rate compared to their legacy site. Over 45,000 custom vehicle configurations were saved by users in the first week, generating a massive pipeline of high-intent leads that sold out their entire first production run within 48 hours.
